Hey guys! Welcome to my very first blog. This was one of the most popular projects I worked on this year and received a lot of positive feedback so I thought I'd start with the tree canvas.
Most of the large onsite projects and murals I work on include my mother, Holly, who is also an artist. We work well together and have fun creating these unique pieces. This client had a dying birch tree in her front yard that had recently had its limb cut down. She knew she wanted something striking from the road and bright, colorful pansies were on her mind.
This project took longer than expected due to 2021's hot and rainy summer that was thrown at the northeast. Most people don't realize how touchy paint can be when it comes to temperature. Too hot, too cold and things will not dry properly. Once we were able to find long dry stretches we were able to sand, prime, fill cracks and finally paint with our outdoor acrylic paints. Our client was very pleased with the outcome and even travelers driving by honked and yelled compliments out the windows as we completed the project. Needless to say, we were just as happy with the final piece.
